This Historic Dutch Colonial Revival was built in 1932-33 by prominent politician, Alexander Nelson Pursley. Family, friends, and town folk soon nicked named the dwelling “The Big House.”

The home and Carriage House are still crowned by the original green tile roofs.
In 1949, the home was given to the Catholic Church for the St. Louis de Montfort Fathers’ who founded the Marybrook Novitiate, where seminarians prepared for ordination in the Catholic community.

Today, Ted and Muriel Fettig have refinished 1500 sq, ft. of oak hardwood floors, reconditioned all woodwork and 6 set of 7 ˝ ft. French doors. After a tour of the elegant restoration it’s time to venture outdoors to experience the splendor of Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter in nature’s relaxing environment.
